When someone asks ChatGPT which firm to use, one name gets read out and the rest do not exist. We measure who gets named in your market, work out why, and make it you.
Checking your Google ranking takes time, but at least you can do it. You have no way to see what ChatGPT or Gemini say when a buyer asks about your business. The one thing shaping their decision is the one you cannot look up.
See where you standAsk for the best option in your category and AI hands back two or three names. If yours is not one of them, a competitor is being recommended to your buyer, for free. They do not have to be the better business. They just have to be the one AI can read.
How we measure what AI saysIt fills the gaps with whatever it can find: old pricing, a service you dropped, a claim that was never true. It says all of it with total confidence, and your buyer has no reason to doubt it. A confident wrong answer is worse than not being mentioned at all.
What answer engine optimisation involvesThere is no dashboard to log into and no listing to correct. AI learns your business from the pattern of signals across the web. The longer a competitor is the name it trusts, the harder that is to take back.
How we do the workWhen customers ask AI, somebody gets named. We make sure it is you.
A full measurement of how every AI we track answers your buyers' questions. You see who gets named, who gets a source link, where you sit against your competitors, and what to change first.

We do the work. Clear answers on your own site, the structure a machine needs to read them, and the other websites AI actually points at. Measured again every month against your starting number.

Across thousands of questions, the businesses an AI names from memory and those it names after searching the web only match up about one time in eight. Same question, same AI, same moment, but two almost completely different lists of companies.
That is why being visible is not one job. It is two.
When an AI answers from memory, it is telling you what it already thinks about your market. When it answers after a search, it is telling you what it just found online. Most businesses are missing from both, and the winners are rarely the same in each.
Citable is a New Zealand company that works on how AI talks about your business. We check what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews say about your market, find the questions where your competitors get named and you do not, then fix what is causing it.
We do the work for you. There is no software to learn and nothing to set up.
We ask the AI tools the questions your buyers actually ask, both ways. You see who gets named, who gets a link back to their website, and where you sit.
We rewrite and rebuild what the AI reads, so your business becomes the clearest and easiest answer for it to give.
We keep asking the questions and tell you what changed. This has to be earned, so we measure it in months, not days.
Every agency in New Zealand offering this work says it leads the field. We went and measured the field. Since June 2026 we have put thousands of buyer questions to the AI tools across seven New Zealand industries and recorded more than 60,000 business names.
We did it to our own market too. We published what the AI said about us, then went and fixed it.
Prior to launch, no AI named Citable in 91 questions about answer engine optimisation in New Zealand, and cited us zero times. None could find a source.
That is the exact problem we fix, measured on ourselves, and we would rather show you that than tell you we are the leading anything.
How we measure what AI saysImmigration advice and premium tourism are both New Zealand markets we measure the same way, and they behave nothing alike. In immigration, the businesses AI names from memory and the ones it names after a search match up 5 percent of the time. In premium tourism it is 19 percent.
How crowded they are differs just as much. In immigration, ten firms take a third of every mention. In law, where AI named more than 1,300 firms, the ten biggest names take only 14 percent.
We measure any New Zealand market where buyers research before they enquire. Tell us yours and we will run the questions your buyers are asking, then show you who gets named.
Tell us your business and your market and we will ask the questions your buyers are asking. You will see which AI names you, which ones name your competitors, and where each answer came from.

Answer engine optimisation, or AEO, is the work of becoming the business an AI names when someone asks a question in your market. It covers what your website says, how your site is built so a machine can read it, and the other websites the AI checks before it answers.
Answer engine optimisation is about being named and quoted when an AI answers a question. Generative engine optimisation, or GEO, is the same idea applied across generative engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. In practice the two overlap almost completely and the work is identical.
We measure ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. We ask the first three twice, once for what they already know and once after they search the web, because those give different lists of businesses.
Months, not weeks. This has to be earned. We ask the questions again on a regular cycle and report what changed each time, so you see which way it is going long before you see a finished result.
